About
“This is dedicated to you and your first small fortune online.”
‘Yeah, right!’ you say as you smirk at reading these words. ‘Just the kind of dribble from all those people trying to sell me something.’
Before you dismiss this quote that must surely be a gimmick of mine, know this truth: These words aren’t mine. I just really like this quote.
The quote is from a book I read sometime in early March 2003. A few months after I read the book, I did have a small fortune.
The book didn’t make the money for me, so let me explain why you should pay attention.
Back in 2003 as I read that book, I was having an experience that’s so 2009 for many people: I was unemployed, broke, and my computer quit on me. As a programmer, I needed my computer to feed my family.
The book gave me hope, but I had some questions the book didn’t answer. I also felt I was too busy to do what the book said. In despair, I showed up late at night at a friend’s door.
“Have you looked at Overture?” he asked. “I’m making a little money with them.” (More about Overture later in the blog.) Turns out my friend had an idea, but needed someone with a little computer savvy to make it work. He’d put up all the money, and being unemployed, I had time to do the programming.
With the two of us working together, his profit grew 400% in 2 months. Now he wanted me as a business partner. Over the next few months, the profits would grow many, many times more. Eventually we had over 200,000 people each month coming to our website.
I decided to do consulting and help others gain the success we saw. I started reading that book again one night. Imagine how shocked I was to realize just about everything I’d done to get my fortune was exactly what the book said to do. Hmmm.
My life got very busy. I lost focus on this goal to share with you what’s in the book, as well as the many other ideas I’ve found useful along the way.
Just the other day, however, I saw something online that really made me mad. Mad at myself. Clearly this book was timeless. Here people are in 2009, doing the same things, the same ideas I used to make a fortune back in 2003, but with a different market. And they’re clearly making a ton of money.
At this moment, I made a big decision. I’m going to reveal some secrets. Things I’m sure you don’t know. Things I wasn’t sure I wanted to tell anyone. If I did, then they’d make the money instead of me.
It finally hit me. If these ideas truly work, if they really make money, sharing them won’t make things worse for me. It’ll help you, and it’ll help me. Win-win.
So there it is. The purpose of this site - To help you get your first (or next) small fortune online.
