The Best Idea is a Split Tested Idea
Split Testing Ideas for Profit (and Definitely for Fun…You’ll See)
I must confess. I’m a tweaker. Not the drug kind, the try-something-new-on-my-website kind.
There are some exciting new concepts I’ve just found that have proven to take blogging to the next level for a few really successful bloggers. In fact, I’m going to be trying some of these out on my blog. (This means I’ll have to make some technical changes to my site. I’ll have to keep this post short, and get right to making these changes.)
But don’t worry. When I get out from under the hood and done working on my blog, I want to share every last detail of what I’m doing. In fact, It’s my purpose to walk you step-by-step through what I do when setting up a blog…from downloading and installing WordPress, to customizing your blog using the very best of themes that happen to be free, installing the very best free plugins, to signing up with some free services that truly make your blog famous.
Do you like the idea of free stuff? I do. In this economy, I happen to like the idea behind the advertisement that’s floating around the internet (company name removed for the fun of it):

Being ever ready to change your site, your methods - this is very important in internet marketing. If you use an idea on your site that seems like it might work, immediately try to find one that’s better. You must also be able to compare the success of these two ideas. The great thing about the internet, is that viewers vote by how they respond to your two (and from what I’ve found, this should be only two) side-by-side ideas.
When you have lots of viewers, the votes usually become more decisive. When one idea is clearly better, discard the loser and repeat the process. I’ve always called this split testing, although Wikipedia calls it multivariate testing.
Especially after I get things changed and post something to explain myself - I’d really be interested in hearing what you think.
So, on with the changes and trying to practice what I preach.
